LIT FEST POSTER
This poster was designed for the 2023 Neustadt Literature Festival, an international celebration of literature hosted by World Literature Today. The goal was to visually capture the imagination and cultural richness of storytelling while honoring NSK Prize winner Gene Luen Yang.
CHALLENGE + SOLUTION
The design needed to embody the festival’s literary focus and the prestige of the NSK Prize. Central to the poster is a towering stack of books symbolizing the limitless growth of knowledge, life, and creativity inspired by reading. Atop the stack, a bonsai tree represents harmony, growth, and cultural heritage. The bright, youthful color palette and detailed illustration celebrate the transformative power of books, engaging the spirited audience of the Neustadt Literature Festival. The poster also highlights Gene Luen Yang and his book American Born Chinese, this year’s esteemed NSK Prize winner, affirming his significant role in contemporary literature.
